Lake Ray Hubbard Fishing remains awesome ... And the spring time bite is really unfolding nicely :) with the cold fronts that we have had it is a little late but the fishing should be very good to great until the summer heat sets in . This is one of my favorite times of year and the switch from fishing guide to fishing hunter sets in  a few of the fish I have cleaned still have eggs , but that is very few...what they do have is a belly full of shad .... The shad with the warmer water temps are spawning and the fish are hungry after most have spawned out . I really like windy flats early in the morning and don't forget to check them through out the day ... Just cause it is 11:00 am and sunny doesn't mean you can't find fish in 2-8 ft of water . You just have to be persistent ... On the over cast days this can go on all day long :thumb: I know we go through this every year , but just a tip , if you are going to check shallow water shut down your motor ... Don't drive around with your big motor running looking around in 5 ft of water ... You really do spook the fish that way . On my trip Saturday I never tied a slab on... Threw nothing but CoCo Moe's and that was fun ... The times I did slab , it is the usual slow lift and slow drop ... And when you are using plastics , just a steady reel works great :thumb: I measured over 70 hybrids the last few trips and they were 17.5 inches long :) that is looking great for some great fall time fishing for these wonderful fish :) the bigger hybrids were mixed in and some of the brutes ( 7+ pounds) were loner fish ... all fish caught on CoCo Moe's in the 4 inch size with 3/4 oz Dead Head Jig heads , 3 in sassy shad with 1/2 oz Dead Head jig heads and some new designed slabs that are not released to the public YET :) you can get any of these lures at www.moestackleshop.com and let Mike know you fish Lake Ray Hubbard , he will fix you up with what I use . Water temps were 62-66 degrees and fish caught in 1ft -24 ft water ...
