Ray Hubbard Report 1-2-09

Had the chance to sneak out this afternoon with JV4 Nitro. We fished from 1:30pm till 5:15pm. Lots and lots of boats on the water today. We caught fish today, whites and hybrids but the hybrids are getting shorter then they were last week. Caught a quit a few keepers but in the 18 in to 19 in range…lots of those 17 ¾ fish Big whites and no small ones for us. Fish and birds moved fast today, and when the birds stuck around the fish were a little more finicky today. For the way the graph looked you would have thought you could not get a lure down. I do believe the boat traffic played a big part today. Birds would start working then 10 boats would crank up and haul [censored] in a straight line for them…. It would be a lot better if they went way out then stopped up wind . All fish caught on Moe’s Dead Assassins in 32-36 ft water. Winds were calm at first but got up to 12-13 mph and water temp was 51-53 degrees. Windy the rest of the weekend so if you go out please be careful.
