Had the chance to fish with good friend Ruben today. Started out at 8:30 am and fished till 11:30am. Checked a couple of spots, best fish came from birds working in multiple locations. Started with slabs and swim baits. Fish stacked up really nice, they would move pretty fast at certain times, deep water then shallow with some swirls. Lots of suspended fish and a couple of small hybrids. I did catch one hybrid that was about 17” but that was the biggest. Huge whites , very few little ones. Did check one spot and found the mother load of yellow bass, every drop… The highlight of the day was when Matt hooked a fish with his guest today and the rod just bent over…. The best part was it was light spinning gear . Matt’s guest must have fought that thing for 20 min before it got to the top….HUGE FLATHEAD !!! the only problem was it broke off at the boat. I would say 25-30lb fish…. All our fish caught on SSS 1oz slabs, Shanghai swim baits from MOE’S and TNT 180’s in 8-29 ft. Water temp was 60 degrees winds were 8-13 mph S-SE-E and I made it home before the down pour started. Lots of good whites caught today.
