Had first time guest Darrell and his sons Cooper & Tanner for an afternoon on Hubbard .We started at 2:00pm and fished till 6:30pm. Darrell wanted to keep a few fish so we kept some nice ones and a couple small legal whites that were deep hooked. Stopped at our first spot, marked a few flounder so we dropped . FISH ON!!!! Now for the funny part…. The youngest that is Cooper caught about 5 fish and just put his rod up…..said “ I am done and that was fun” . I said “WHAT”, he said John…. “I do not want to catch anymore“…..His dad said that all he wanted to do is net fish…. Ok, got out the net and we had our self an official deck hand :D That youngster netted everything we caught… when I say everything I mean even the small whites and some yellows .Hey, if that is what he wanted so he could have fun then so be it. He stood ready every time somebody hooked a fish… he was great and I did manage to trick him a couple of times with the “ Hold this fishing pole” trick and caught a couple more. Every spot we stopped and fish we caught fish except one. . all fish caught in structure with slabs. We caught a lot of fish and the kids had fun. All fish and the one great rusty can caught on SSS slabs from MOE’S and TNT 180’s in 16-32ft water. Winds were S-N-E in all directions 5-12mph and water temp was 60 degrees.
