Hubbard 5-1-09

Had first time guest Dale and his friend along for an afternoon trip on Hubbard. We started a little after 3pm and fished till 8pm. Started out slow for us, I fished shallow and found a few scattered hybrids and whites…. Could never find anything grouped up. Not much to report for the first 3 hours But we nailed them in the 9th inning. Caught fish on every drop… I had a slab tied on with 2 fly by night jigs and hooked multiple 3’s. Dale’s main objective was to learn the lake and patterns… for the first 3 hours he got to learn the lake. All in all a good trip. Ended with just under 100 fish, 1 legal hybrid and not counting the school of yellow bass I found… every drop, and after about 10 we left them things. All fish caught on SSS Slabs, Shangri swim baits from MOE’S and TNT 180’s with FBN jigs atop in water 2ft to 26ft. Winds were rough at first but laid down. Water temp was 70 degrees. Sorry, no pics....
