Ray Hubbard Report 1-16-09

Had good friends SuperDuck and fast Guy on the boat with me on Friday. We meant to start at 10:00 am but with the 26 degree balmy weather my motor did not want to recycle water :D We had to pull it out and blow the ice out of the line. At 10:30 we headed out… it was cold to say the least. We fished for an hour and half with 1 big fish caught by Fast Guy. Super Duck made the executive decision to break for lunch at Texas Land and Cattle. After a big lunch and a couple of coffee’s with baileys & Cream to warm the blood we were off. From 1:30 till 4:30pm it was on. We found fish in 30-31ft water and caught a lot of legal hybrids and big whites. Found small pockets of birds but they did not work to much, we fished the areas that have been producing fish for the last couple of weeks. It was an excellent day for nice hybrids, very few 17 inch and maybe 2 small whites. Super did catch the ever elusive yellow bass. but he was big also. All fish caught on Dead Assassins and jig heads from Moe’s and I had the TNT Dead Hedz jig on. Water was a very warm 47 degrees and winds were not bad.
