Ray Hubbard 5-9-09

Had first time guest Melvin and his 3 sons. One son is in from Georgia from school and the other 2 are local. He called and wanted to just take his kids fishing and spend time with them. After being a little lost getting there we started at 7:30am. I was catching fish already before they showed up. All I can tell you if you cant catch fish on Hubbard right now then find another hobby. We double rigged with SSS slabs and mini 2.5 inch royal assassins and just hammered fish. Pick threw the smaller ones and a lot of nice keepers. Would have caught some legal hybrids if they would have been there on time ( a little birdie told me ) but caught fish till you were tired. Everybody was catching fish. We even caught fish on the top bare hook. They kept 50 for a family fry and we released all the rest…. Easily could have kept their 100 fish, we broke that number twice. My boat looks like a cluster bomb went off …. All fish caught on SSS Slabs and mini 2.5 inch royal assassins , 3 inch CO-Ho’s With ½ oz heads in water 3-25 ft. Water temps were in the low 70’s and wind was E-NE 10-13 mph.
